Young Start Funding Award for Inspire Stirling's Youth

‘Inspire Stirling's Youth’ have received a £57,654 funding award from Young Start, delivered by the National Lottery Community Fund.

The National Lottery Community Fund delivers the fund on behalf of the Scottish Government. The funding will be used to continue and expand the existing work they have been doing across the Stirling area.

Inspire Stirling's Youth are a group of young people that are using physical activity and sport to have a positive impact on other young people’s health and wellbeing. This will be achieved by providing a wide range of activity and mentoring of young people throughout Stirling.

The funding they received from Young Start will allow many young people to realise the physical, emotional and social benefits of being active. The young volunteers from Inspire Stirling's Youth will also develop key employability skills, as this will be central to giving local young people a voice on how physical activity and sport can change lives.

Mark Findlay Active Stirling's Employability and Volunteering manager said,

“I would like to thank The Young Start National Lottery Community Fund for this funding. We are all really excited to see how Inspire Stirling's Youth will continue to develop and expand what they are doing and the support they are going to provide young people in the Stirling area to realise the benefits of taking part in physical activity and sport in a safe, fun and social environment. A special mention must go to Grace Roberts, Active Stirling’s Employability and Volunteering Officer for her hard work in driving the project forward and applying for the funding.”
